Ethiopia and Djibouti agree to join hands on peace and security efforts

 



Ethiopia and Djibouti have signed an agreement to work together on strategic and technical spectrums of their military.

 The countries signed the bilateral agreement during the 9th meeting of Ethio-Djibouti defense force military chiefs.

The joint defense force committee of the two nations has reached an agreement to work together on strategical and technical spectrums that has a vital role for regional peace and security. 

Ethiopia and Djibouti have a historic enduring bilateral relations in military, political, social and cultural spheres, said Ethiopian Defense Force Chief Field Marshal Berhanu Jula while signing the agreement.

Field Marshal Berhanu said the countries are seats for various continental and international organizations. The nations will continue working together to achieve their peacekeeping missions.

As to Djibouti’s Defense Force Chief General Zekaria Sheikh Ibrahim, the agreement is an important milestone to benefit both countries.

The agreement enable the nations to join hands on monitoring their border, exchanging information, preventing illegal activities, fighting terrorism and facilitating training.
