Ethiopia warns giant media over “misconduct” in reporting conflict

Ethiopia's Broadcasting Authority on Friday issued a warning on four international media for discrediting its effort to solve the conflict and consequences in Tigray.

The Authority has issued warning of seizing licences from BBC, CNN, AP and Reuters media outlets for  biased reporting on the way it has been handling the conflict in the northern part of the country.

The statement indicated that these mainstream media are engaged in discrediting country’s leader in the international arena.

They also receive the warning for reporting “government's usage of hunger and rape as weapon of war.”

They accused to be discrediting the government endeavour to address humanitarian support to the people affected by the war.
