Former Olympic and World Champion athlete Haile expressed commitment on Tuesday to support country’s “national survival  campaign” in all means including by serving the national army. 

He told country’s news agency that the political and diplomatic pressure currently challenging Ethiopia also “targets subdugating the continent under neo-colonialism.”

Haile described the dedication that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed shown to lead the army from the battlefront is a manifestation of every patriotic leader. The athlete also called on all citizens and other African  brothers to  follow his lead.

“We have never messed with Ethiopia. Our country is always victorious,” he said.

 Therefore, Ethiopians need to stand together to protect their country, Haile notes. 

The generation shouldn’t let enemies to defame the glorious history that inherited from forefathers, he said, adding Ethiopians all over the world are teaming up to protect their shining history so that no one can stop them.

And this will give a good lesson to the world about what it meant by Ethiopian zeal for freedom and sovereignty, the athlete expressed.

 Haile also called on Ethiopians engaged in various walks of life to doggedly work on their businesses by doubling their efforts in order to replace or restore damaged properties in the operation.
