Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Monday that the coalition of the Ethiopian Federal Forces is liberating the Afar and Amhara regions from TPLF fighters.
“Currently almost all of the areas in the Afar and Amhara regions that were controlled by the “enemy” are liberated,” Abiy said.
The premier stated that his army has evacuated the TPLF forces from Shoa, Kemissie, Dessie and Kombolcha cities in addition to several places in South Wollo Zone of Amhara state.
“We are chasing the remnants of the “enemy”. We will advance more victory and the national army shall prevail,” he remarked.
The hard work made by the national army paid back to make the “enemy” flee barehanded from the areas it has controlled, Abiy said and added that his army is chasing TPLF remnant fighters who dispersed in various directions following the victory.
“We are paying sacrifice to save the country not to rape, steal commit other crimes like the “enemy” did,” Abiy noted.
The year long war in Ethiopia have caused the loss of lives and properties and displaced many from their habitats.
