Diaspora raises record set $640,000 to restore Ethiopia

 

Ethiopians and friends reside in Los Angeles, USA have raised a record set $640,000 in few hours to restore life affected by the war in northern parts of the country.

Ethiopians in LA have proved that  the sky is not the limit when it comes to raising funds to help and uplift their people, said Fitsum Arega, Ethiopian Ambassador to the US.

“In the City of Angeles, Los Angels we had a record-breaking fundraiser to help our people displaced by TPLF terrorist war of aggression,” he noted.

He commended all Ethiopians who attended the event and raise support deeply moved by the suffering of their people and the “extraordinary and exemplary” leadership of Prime Minster  Abiy Ahmed.

Among hundreds of Ethiopians  who attend the event were journalist Hermela Aregawi and her mother Professor Haregewoin, human rights activist and lawyer Professor Al Mariam, artist Betty G and her partner Elias Wondimu, professor Adugna and many other distinguished LA residents, Fitsum mentioned.
