“I am returning to my office for some time now by accomplishing the first chapter of the war,” said prime minister Abiy Ahmed on Wednesday in his statement posted on his official Facebook page.
He also expressed gratitude to all who show commitment to sacrifice their life, knowledge, time and energy in the “national campaign to protect the country.”
The national struggle will continue until the enemies give up and cease hostility and approach Ethiopia in a peaceful means, he said.
The country’s ambition is always to ensuring about peace, love and sovereignty, he stated.
However, the TPLF together with some local and foreign enemies has tried to obstruct this ambition from realization, according to Abiy.
“Thanks to the joint efforts of the national army, special forces of each region and militias, we have victoriously completed the first chapter of the war within two weeks.”
However, the war is not concluded since there are areas that have not been liberated yet, he indicated.
“We ought to give lesson to the enemy in a way it will not be national threat once again. The remnants also should be surrendered,” Abiy noted.
He called on citizens to strengthen support to the army, harvesting crops and doggedly work to achieve better result in various professions than any other times.
