WHO Chief urges world community to prioritize sanitation and social distancing over vaccines to combat coronavirus

 


WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom said on Thursday that the international population ought to apply prevention measures than vaccines to efficiently reduce the vulnerability and risk of the new COVID 19 variant, Omicron.

"I need to be very clear: vaccines alone will not get any country out of this crisis,” he said.

Countries can – and must – prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic with measures that work today, Tedros stated.

He underlined on the coronavirus prevention measures than vaccines that are being distributed worldwide intended to strengthen immunity.

 A proper and consistent use of  facemasks, ventilators, and applying social distancing will help by far than vaccines in the fight against the pandemic, according to the Director General.

“Do it all. Do it consistently. Do it well," he capitalized.
