The platform which developed by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology intended to encourage the diaspora's engagement in various areas through providing government services via online mechanisms.
According to the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency (EDA), the e-service is part of the government's objective to build a digital economy.
Therefore, the service enables the diaspora to open bank account, take tax payer's TIN number and enhance investment and trading activities online from the country it resides.
EDA Deputy Director General Mohammed Indris (P.h.D) said the new system helps the diaspora community to get the service it needs from the country it lives.
The agency is working on strengthening the diaspora engagement in various areas the country is seeking for mainly with regard to public diplomacy, resource mobilization and knowledge and skill transfer.
