The country inaugurated Diaspora Park in Addis Ababa aimed at erecting memorial to the diaspora community and boosting its engagement in the national green legacy project, said Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebie while inaugurating the park.

Naming the park after the diaspora has more meaning than promoting green development, she said adding that it inspired them to actively engage in backing green legacy.

On the inaugural ceremony, the diasporas have planted over 4,000 seedlings.

The diasporas also expressed excitement for contributing their part in the national green legacy program responding to the call of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

They also vowed enhancing their participation in support of their motherland in all sectors.
