Abrehot library that had been built over the past one and half year in Addis Ababa at a cost of 1.1 billion birr was inaugurated on Saturday with the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
It is knowledge that pull out every citizen from the yoke of ignorance, he said on the inaugural ceremony.
He noted the people needs to improve knowledge to get out of problems.
“We need to know our glorious history thereby we can act by that range,” Abiy remarked.
Ethiopia has both written and unwritten histories. Therefore the country will document and archived it all in the library.
Abrehot appears to be the leading library in the region for its massive structure and state-of-the-art technologies, said Adanech Abebie, Mayor of Addis Ababa.
She also pointed out that the library is vital to create knowledge-based generation.
Laying on 49,000 square meter area, the library serves over 2000 users at a time.
