Ethiopia secures 17.2 mln. USD from agro-industry parks

 


Ethiopia announced that it has secured 17.2 million US dollars from export of agricultural products processed in its integrated agro-industry parks. 

Industry Minister Melaku Alebel said that the agro-industry parks are playing crucial roke in availing  foreign currency through supplying value-added products to the international market.

The parks also help to advance the agriculural sector through facilitating agricultural inputs, accessible market, infrastructures, attracting investors  and so on.

Melaku called on private owners to invest in the area utilizing the development opportunity facilitated in line with the agro-industry parks.

In the past recent years, Ethiopia has constructed four agro-industry parks in Amhara, Oromia, Tigray and SNNPs regional states aimed at increasing processed agricultural products that help the nation attain more foreign currency.
