The Ethiopian parliament on Thursday approved new appointments including Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Health.
Accordingly, the parliament appointed former Spy Chief Temesgen Tiruneh as Deputy Prime Minister of the country.
Similarly, Ethiopia’s former permanent representative to the UN, Taye AtskeSelassie has been also appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The two appointments came on the heels of the recent announcement by former Deputy PM and FM Demeke Mekonnen on his resignation from his position.
Likewise, Mekdes Daba has been chosen to succeed Lia Tadesse as Minister of Health. Minister Mekdes who has experience working for WHO, and as a practising of obstetrics and gynecology will lead Ministry of health.
By the same token, the former National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Redwan Hussein sworn in as the Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service.
