Ethiopia demands a joint effort among all peace loving parties to eliminate the Al-Shabaab terrorist group that affect peace and development in the region, Peace Minister Binalf Andualem said.
Apart from the close political, economic and cultural diplomacy among the east African countries, Binalf said, terrorism and conflict are affecting peace and development in the region.
He told the national news agency (ENA) that Al-Shabaab's activities in Somalia are serious threats to the security of Ethiopia and other East African countries.
He also called for a strong collaboration among regional community, governments and institutions to dismantle the terrorist group.
Ethiopia is doing a great job in this regard, he stressed.
On Tuesday, Sheger Hours cited VOA to report the killing of six Ethiopians in Somalia’s Beled Hawo town in which the local authorities accused of Al-Shabaab for committing the crime.
