The National Disaster Risk Management Commission has equipped five regions with 24 vehicles essential for emergency services.
The vehicles are procured at a cost of 150 million Birr gained from the European Union.
Accordingly, the Commission distributed 7, 5, 4, 4 and 2 ambulances respectively to Oromia, Amhara, Somali, SNNPs and Sidama states.
It has also handed over 30, 24 and 6 motorcycles to Somali, SNNPs and Sidama regions respectively.
The Commission said that the project of distributing emergency vehicles will continue to the next two years.
