Ethiopia lifts State of Emergency for comparative peace

 


The Council of Ministers on  has lifted the State of Emergency that was made effective in November with regard to the expansion of the war in northern parts of the country.

The Council announced that the country has seen comparative peace in which rule of law can be applied in the regular process.

Therefore, it said the State of Emergency is not necessary anymore.

Accordingly, the Council has decided on revoking the declaration and submited its resolution to the Parliament for approval.
